Who knew the sun was made out of paper?

In this class we focused on the 3-Dimentional aspects of Art. So we started with something simple. For this project we made a Relief sculpture out of paper and found objects. So I began researching and I found a particular subject that inspired me and that was an Aztec Sun.

Problem: Construct a Relief sculpture out of paper and found objects then spray paint it.

Solution: Aztec Sun Relief sculpture with sequins as the found object. Finished with Gold spray paint.

Do you have a clock in here? I think you need new batteries....

For my final project in this class I decided to make a clock, I took inspiration from the grandfather clock I have in my living room. I made this project out of clay and molding it into that rectangular shape.

 Problem: Choose a word out of a hat. (These words are the elements of art) my word was Shape.

Solution: I incorporated shape in this project by hand drawing all of the shapes in the grand father clock    
(2-D shape) and the clock itself consists of shapes (3-D shapes).

In this class we had more chances to get on the wheel and create vases and bowls. So being the Hunger Games fan that I am I decided to create a Hunger Games inspired vase. Hey, the Catching Fire movie was coming out in a few weeks so I got a little excited.

What's cuter than a puppy? A cat wearing glasses, no offense to dogs everywhere...

Out of all the projects that we did in this class this one was one of my favorites. Our final project for this class was to create a monochromatic painting.



Problem: Find a picture or create a picture and paint it using one color and it's tints, shades and tones.

Just me and my 4B Pencil

This is the year when you know what you're going to be doing in college. It's Senior Year...and since I took care of all my science credits I decided to have fun this year and take 5 Art classes. Intro to art, Intermediate Ceramics, Advanced Ceramics, Painting, and Sculpture. Into to art is a prerequisite to Painting so lets start with that.

This was one of the drawing projects we did.

Problem: Print a black and white image and cut it in half, draw the half that was cut.

My Personal Minion, His name is Phil

This is another one of the projects that we had to do which was to make a candle holder. I decided to make a Minion (From Despicable Me) candle holder. I planed for it to hold the candle on it's right arm but when it was placed in the kiln it shrunk a bit and now the candle doesn't fit in it, but hey it serves as a decoration.

Problem: Create a candle holder.

Solution: Minion candle holder (check). Actually holds candle (fail). Serves as decoration now.

Who said a box wasn't interesting?

I started taking Art classes when I was a Junior in High School. At this point I had no interest in art and just viewed it as a hobby I was so set on becoming a Doctor therefore I took all of the science classes available to me but I decided to take one Art class and that was Ceramics.

Problem: Construct a Box using Slabs and using the Slip and Score Technique; create a theme.
Solution: Taylor Swift theme.
